Franklin Township Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks (Rescheduled)
Franklin Township’s (Somerset County) annual free Independence Day Celebration and fireworks, originally set for Thursday, July 2, was postponed to Friday, July 10 because of the dangerous extreme-heat wave (heat index near/over 100 degrees) that hit the region around July 2-4, 2026. Mayor Phil Kramer confirmed the new date. The celebration begins at 6 p.m. at the Franklin Township Municipal Complex, 475 DeMott Lane, and concludes with a fireworks display at approximately 9:15 p.m. Rescheduled from July 2 due to extreme heat.
