A Revolutionary Celebration: Independence Day on the Raritan — East Jersey Old Town Village
Daylong commemoration of July 4, 1778, when Washington ordered a ‘feu de joie’ along the Raritan: a 5K run, 18th-century music, reenactors in character, artillery demonstrations, exhibits on divided loyalties, children’s crafts, theatrical presentations and food vendors. Free shuttle links the village and the Cornelius Low House.
