Daily Declaration Reading with the History Makers

Wednesday, July 8, 2026 3:45 PM Runs Tuesdays–Saturdays, June 2–September 7

Beyond the big noon and 6 PM reenactments, Historic Philadelphia’s costumed History Makers give a short daily reading of the Declaration of Independence behind Independence Hall, by the Commodore John Barry statue, at 3:45 PM — so on the 250th anniversary you can catch the Declaration read three times in one day. Famous and not-so-famous “History Makers” recite the document and stick around for pictures. Free; runs Tuesday–Saturday, June 2 through September 7.
